The Library Foundation [ALOUD] will be hosting an evening with Miguel Syjuco in conversation with Cecilia Manguerra Brainard at the Los Angeles Central Library. The event is tomorrow night, May 5th at 7 p.m.
So folks, you now know where I’ll be spending tomorrow evening. I’m looking forward to meeting the author himself and hearing all about his much-anticipated novel, Ilustrado. I purchased my very own copy today. It’s available where all great books are sold. If you happen to shop at the Borders on Westwood, you’ll notice the books straight away as you exit from the elevator. They are (as of tonight,) strategically positioned prominently throughout the store. Also, you can always look under S in the fiction section. Ilustrado is a fast-paced, well-written, and engrossing read. I only stopped reading to have dinner, because I hardly ever miss dinner!..ever!..and of course, I had to write & tell you lovelies all about it. Hope to see you there!
