Neither wild horses, nor lack of sleep could keep me away from attending the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books this year (or any other year for that matter). I attended both days during the weekend of April 25-26. Pardon me, I realize that this post is a week late. Anyway, it was great. I attended panels to hear Pico Iyer, Ray Bradbury, Mary Higgins Clark and Cara Black discuss their approach to writing, the creative process and life in general. However, it was Giada de Laurentiis’ cooking demo and book signing that was the highlight for mom and myself that last day. Coming face-to-face with Giada is like meeting one of those Botticelli angels come-to-life. She was so open, approachable and charming. We talked about being Bruins and shopping at Sorrento’s in Culver City among other things.

It's so nice to meet you!

Go Bruins AND Sorrento's!
